Anxiety in Men

Experiences of anxiety are common to all people.  Many men experience feelings of shame around even having anxiety or feeling anxious as there is often an idea that anxiety is a sign of weakness for a man.  This of course is not true.  All men have periods in their life where they become anxious or have lingering anxiety.  Some men have been experiencing a certain level of anxiety for an extended period or time.  Anxiety which is not addressed, treated or acknowledged tends to only grow in strength and creates more road blocks for a man to live the life they want.  Often time the anxiety is connected to some irrational belief that the man has inherited or developed.  It is rarely enough for the man to intellectually know that their belief may be irrational.  They must in most cases actively challenge the exact thing that creates anxiety for them.

Below is a partial list of anxiety disorders which you can receive support with.  It is important to know that therapists at Men Therapy Toronto can not make a formal diagnosis of an anxiety disorder as that can only be done with a psychiatrist or psychologist.
