Eric Pierni, MA, CSAT, RP opened Men Therapy Toronto in 2016 with the primary intention of fulfilling its mission and vision.  Eric is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).   Eric is also an EMDR Trained Therapist.  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.  In addition to a Masters degree in Psychotherapy Eric also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree.

Michael McCarthy is a Registered Social Worker in the province of Ontario and has completed masters-level work in Community Development and Social Work, with a focus on men’s emotional health and Nature-based Rites of Passage. He helps men who are struggling with relationships, addictions, anxiety, depression, and who feel directionless. He supports positive changes while addressing the deeper issues that cause men pain and confusion. The aim is to bring more peace, connection, and purpose in their lives and relationships so men can be proud of how they show up in the world. His approach is relational, trauma-informed, and complimentary to men who may be engaged in 12 Step work or other recovery programs. He is a proud father, a woodworker, and tends a small garden with his wife and daughter in Toronto.

Peter is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist CSAT. He is also a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor with the CACCF. Peter has extensive knowledge and experience in addiction and co-occurring related mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Peter was educated and clinically trained at the renowned Hazelden Betty Ford Center in Center City Minnesota. He focuses on building strong therapeutic connections with his clients through a structured, empathetic, understanding, and client-centered approach. Peter incorporates the following therapeutic modalities in his practice Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Twelve-Step Facilitation, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) amongst others. Peter is involved in his own recovery, and in addition to a Master’s degree in Addiction and Mental Health Studies and Counselling, Peter also holds a Hons BA from Mount Allison University and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School.

André Brown completed his Masters’s in Counselling Psychology in 2022.  His approach to therapy is to provide an environment where clients can freely explore the challenges that moved them to seek help. He also facilitates exploration of the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, since the way that we feel, talk about, and think about the world affects the way that we live in it.You can expect André to spend time understanding your views and beliefs from a non-judgemental perspective. He will also challenge you to think deeply about the things which help you, and those which hinder you in achieving your goals. Ultimately, his goal is to equip you with the skills to be your own agent of change long after therapy is completed.

Gabriel is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from McGill University. He is well-rounded, with 4 years of experience providing psychological support to individuals and groups in various settings, including music festivals, wellness retreat centres, clinical research studies, and non-profit organizations, such as the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario. With this background, Gabriel has developed skills in supporting men with anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, addiction problems, and childhood trauma. He also specializes in harm reduction and psychedelic integration.

As an experienced mindfulness and meditation practitioner, Gabriel effectively demonstrates awareness, non-judgment, and acceptance to meet clients wherever they are at. He then gently explores and identifies each client’s unique needs and circumstances using active listening and compassionate inquiry.

A core principle that informs Gabriel’s therapeutic approach is that clients are truly the experts of their own lives. With this attitude, he respects each person’s individuality and consistently empowers their sense of autonomy and capacity for self-determination.

Suman Banik completed his Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Suman believes that as we encounter various changes in our lives, certain behaviors can start or shift in ways that leave us feeling lost and in pain. Suman can help you explore these pivotal shifts by deepening your understanding of who you are, your relationships, and determining what tools will allow you to thrive in the ways you deserve to. He focuses on working alongside you to find strategies that align with your unique strengths, values and interests so that you can achieve lasting change.

Creating a comfortable and open environment is important to each of Suman’s sessions. He hopes to connect with you authentically and transparently in ways where you feel supported as well as challenged. Suman’s goal is to help you gain back the control you seek in your life.

Suman has an educational background in medicine, neuroscience and mental health which he collectively integrates into your sessions alongside insights from his own process in therapy. In addition to integrating multiple approaches, he has a special interest in empathizing with various cultural concerns.

James (Jim) Leitch is a Registered Psychotherapist  (Qualifying) completing his Masters in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.  Jim also has a Masters of Arts degree in Literature and Philosophy from York University which he completed at the beginning of his career.  Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the therapist role. Personally he has  spent many years in his own self development and recovery journey and has always enjoyed helping others do the same.  Professionally Jim was a leader in technology companies for many years and he always enjoyed managing, coaching and developing people in managing their careers. Jim tries to take a very non-judgemental and accepting stance with his clients to understand their presenting issues and helps the client unpack their sources of conflict to lead a more fulfilling life. Jim helps men working through many different addiction and mental health issues with a particular focus on sex and porn addiction. Jim also provides career and professional counselling as well as counselling for those who are struggling through life transitions. Jim uses various modalities such as psychodynamics, family system theory, 12 Steps and spirituality to collaboratively work with clients to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Pardeep is a practicum student completing his Masters in Counselling Psychology in 2024. Pardeep has a solid academic grounding in psychology and a diverse, multicultural worldview that enhances his counselling skills. While working for the Department of National Defence, one of his roles was as an Employment Assistance referral agent. This duty unfolded interpersonal skills that enabled him to improve the lives of many people.

Pardeep is a trauma focused counsellor, as he himself is a trauma survivor.

His approach is holistic and integrated and draws from personal experience. He is a big believer in natural healing and personal strength. He utilizes Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help his clients.

I see my role as helping my clients understand themselves and find meaning and balance in their lives. Sometimes this can be a trying process, but with trust and compassion, we can create positive change.

Jeannie Grace is an RP Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and she has a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is a relationship therapist working with couples who have lost their connection -to one another and to themselves.

Relationships can take many rough turns as partners forge a life together: depleting sex drive and sexual interest in your partner, betrayals, feeling disconnected, and managing the stresses of taking on new roles as parents without losing focus on that part of you that still craves intimacy with your partner.

Jeannie uses a collaborative approach which assesses the state of your partnership, looking for the strengths and problem areas, and then employs targeted therapeutic techniques to address the issues creating ruptures in your relationship.
